With this lineup, we have 7 1st rounders on the ice opening night. I'm not sure we are the least talented team in the NHL currently.

I honestly see a situation similar to what St. Louis had with what you could consider two starting goalies.

Yea, we might be the only team lacking a true top line player outside of Calgary. Although I think we have a decent amount of 2nd-3rd line guys and 2-4 defensemen.

Should be slightly more respectable than last year. I think we can do better than multiple 7 game losing streaks.

Our scouts were on the hot trail with woody ply but they attended the chicago game when cuba gooding jr scored on him. They thought they found their future franchise goaltender but it turns out hes just a bump on a log

Seems like the compete level will be significantly better. At least we have a guy that can keep up with Myers and allow Myers to jump into the play in Gorges. Meszaros can be a great influence on whomever he is paired with.

Girgensons will benefit from the leadership group brought to the team and our "top" line seems to be connecting. I am excited to watch/listen to the games.

I hear ya, schultzie...murray didn't bring trade for him and use that quote to have him sit on the bench...not sure what they have up their sleeve...methinks trading enroth's a strong possibility when Hackett is returns

Although i agree that we could have given up on "the core" a few years ago, our timing is perfect with this rebuild. From all accounts Rinehart is the brainy kid with the winning attitude. And if all goes according to plan, McEckel is the top end guy you want on your top line. Surround those 2 guys with the 1st rounders we already have in the organization plus some trades/free agents and we will be watching a very talented hockey team in 2-3 years. This is going to be fun to watch!

To add on to this conversation, i figured neuvirth would be the winner of the competition out of preseason. I do like your idea though, never really thought about it honestly. Every goalie we have i dont have a problem with. Neuvirth and Hackett sounds like a decent 1a-1b(2a-2b) system on a team thats rebuilding. Heck, any goalie in our system is pretty decent if enroth is traded (basically theyre all replaceable)
